To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. Hi, I am wondering how to move Logic Pro X and all of its files to a hard drive.
If at all possible, I would like to house the app on the external hard drive instead of on my computer. In saying that, I don't know if this is something that I can do. I've seen other posts but they are a couple of years old and I'm not sure if they are still valid. Posted on Jul 12, AM. I wouldn't recommend moving the Logic Pro X app itself from the system drive. Not sure if that's even possible. It doesn't take a lot of disk space per se. You'll need to create symbolic links for folders on your system drive where macOS stores the bulk of Logic's sound library.
Here's a couple of articles to help with this:. Just be aware of the fact that Sound Library Manager a component within Logic responsible for downloading the sound library content might not recognize the library moved to the external HD as installed, although Logic WILL load loops, samples, and other content from it.
This issue can be dealt with by spending a day re-downloading the library. Depending on the amount of free space on your system HD, you may want to re-download and re-install library components to external HD one by one, instead of everything at once.

Hi Logic dudes! So my Logic pro x projects external hard drive free ssd drive is getting pretty full with new projects and I was hoping to move them onto an external drive, so I have enough space to install software. Is it as simple as moving the Logic project folder to the drive?
My old projects are all on this external drive, but I have alot of issues with "file not found search" which i am hoping to avoid with this move. Also my old projects pop up and say Sylenth and H delay etc not found, even thought they are installed?

Re: Plugins, yes I think they are 64 bit, perhaps its trying to find the older 32 bit versions as I use the 32 lives plugin for some older plugs.
